Upon arrival at Cancún Airport, your driver will be waiting for you in the arrivals hall and will transfer you in just over an hour to your comfortable, beachfront hotel in Playa del Carmen. You'll usually land in the late afternoon or evening, and you'll probably be exhausted from the long flight. Your hotel is centrally located, yet only about 500 meters from the wide beach. Quinta Avenida, Playa del Carmen's main shopping street, is also nearby.
After your first night, you'll likely wake up early due to the time difference. Treat yourself to a hearty breakfast. A member of our local agency will then greet you at the reception of your hotel. Together, you'll discuss your itinerary and receive some helpful travel tips. Afterwards, you can acclimatize to the climate and the time difference. Grab a towel and a book and enjoy the sun on Playa del Carmen's beach. We recommend eating at one of the beach bars. Since the sun is quite strong at midday, it's best to stay in the shade. Quinta Avenida, the liveliest street in the center, offers plenty of entertainment. The resort's nightlife also has a lot to offer. For salsa fans, Mambo is the place to be.
You'll likely spend a large portion of your time at Playa on the beach. If you're looking for something active, you can book a day trip to nearby attractions or a snorkeling/diving trip to the coral reef offshore. Just ask at your hotel reception.
