Experience Details
Come along with me to discover the best late-night food and drinking spots in Tokyo! I’ll take you along to some of the most authentic local izakaya (Japanese gastropubs), like Tachinomiya (standing bars) or Yakitori (chicken skewer) bars in Shinjuku. You’ll visit places that only locals know about and experience Shinjuku nightlife like a local. Outside of the overcrowded and ritzy areas of Shinjuku, you can really get to know the local atmosphere of the city and experience Japanese drinking culture for yourself. Prepare yourself for some tasty grilled Japanese dishes, paired with Japanese sake, beer, and other drinks.
Next, we will visit Kabukicho, the red-light district of Tokyo, and delve into Japanese nightlife culture. Finally, we’ll stroll over to a famous drinking district which dates back to the 1940s, with over 200 tiny bars crammed in a small area. The retro vibes of this bar district, combined with the eclectic mix of bars, makes for an experience that is unique to Shinjuku. Here, we will stop by one or two bars and enjoy more drinks. But after the food tour is over, for sure the festivities will tide you over until the wee hours of the morning! Prepared with your new knowledge of Japanese drinking culture, feel free to continue hopping between bars and try to explore all 200!
